Using Emergency Guidance
Activate Emergency Guidance
Emergency Guidance will activate automatically whenever Max understands a situation you have or may enter could be dangerous for your dog, or when you activate Emergency Guidance voluntarily with Quick Cues on dogAdvisor Max. Whenever Emergency Guidance activates, you'll see a ⛨ Emergency Guidance icon in Max's answer.
Emergency Guidance gets to work
First, Emergency Guidance will activate a 3-question questionnaire. These questions vary by situation and context, and Max will change these questions depending on each individual scenario. After you submit your answers, Emergency Guidance gets to work, searching through our entire database of articles and Medical Information from Medical Intelligence and uses Thought Trails in his answers to give you clear step-by-step guidance
Emergency Guidance has a limit
Max knows the limits of at-home guidance and will clearly tell an owner their dog needs immediate veterinary attention. Max has his limits. Emergency Guidance is not a substitute for professional veterinary care and should only be used whilst traveling to your vet. dogAdvisor is not liable for any outcomes, injuries, or losses. Max will explain this clearly to owners. By using Emergency Guidance or dogAdvisor Max, you agree to dogAdvisor's Terms of Service.
Emergency Guidance Audit
What it does
If you're in an emergency and can't reach your vet for emergency advice, Emergency Guidance can provide support whilst you wait for help. So far, it has saved the lives of four dogs.
Accountability
Emergency Guidance is aligned with our Principle Alignment, and is subjected to Max's Safety Framework. Each time Emergency Guidance is activated, a safety engineer at dogAdvisor will manually review the conversation.
Emergency Guidance has saved the lives of four dogs.
Since it's release, Emergency Guidance has helped save the lives of four dogs. Once where a dog choked on a grape, another time when a dog was bleeding catastrophically, a further life was saved when a dog had stomach issues, and Emergency Guidance helped Max save his first life when a dog accidentally ate chocolate.
